Message from Pastor Jensen:
Welcome to Community Lutheran Church's homepage. Our name says it all. Let me explain. · Community - We are a close-knit community. (We are not cliquish, however. There is always room for more!) Sharing the same faith, Lord and baptism, we seek to encourage one another in our walk with Jesus and equip each other for service. And this service extends well beyond the church walls. We strive to be "Good Neighbors. Through our preschool, Helping Hands Garden , support of local charities, and other endeavors, we seek to make a difference in the lives of people within our community and beyond.· Lutheran - Contrary to what some people think, we do not worship Martin Luther, the 16th century monk. But rather, we follow in his footsteps. We are heirs of the Reformation faith. Like Martin Luther, we believe that we are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). Moreover, the Holy Scriptures (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) are the sole source of our teachings. As did Martin Luther, we believe, teach and confess what the Bible says-nothing more, nothing less. · Church - The word 'church comes from the Greek word meaning "to call out. As believers in Jesus, we have been called out of darkness-the darkness of sin and death-into God's glorious light (1 Peter 2:9). We have also been called to make diligent use of the means of Grace-the Word of God and the Sacraments (The Lord's Supper and Holy Baptism)-for through these means God the Holy Spirit strengthens and renews our faith. And we have been called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others so that they too might receive forgiveness and enjoy new and everlasting life in Jesus. Thanks for visiting our website. If you live in our area or are simply passing through, we hope that you will stop by for a visit. We would love to meet you.Because Jesus lives! Pastor Jensen
Our vision is that to which we aspire - not necessarily that which we have already attained.
"Not that I have already attained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Jesus Christ took hold of me". (Philippians 3:12)
1."We are the heart of God" because His Spirit fills us with His divine love. God has called us to be His channels of love to all the world. By our presence He wants people to know that He loves them unconditionally. We dwell in God and He dwells in us. So together, as a spiritual family, we see ourselves as "the heart of God".
2. "Yearning for the heart of man" because man, by nature, has a heart that is sinful and bent on self destruction. God is seeking the lost, through His Church, and yearns for them to be healed. And so do we. Our highest priority at Community is to save the lost.
3. "To have the heart of Christ" so that they can be healed and live in Heaven forever. God rejoices with the angels when the lost are found and saved. That is why Community is a place of rejoicing. Because our church life is focused on nurturing with the heart of Christ.
