Mission of the Month:
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Burlington
Care Net is a non-profit agency offering compassionate support and assistance to anyone facing a pregnancy and/or negative side effects from a past abortion. Clients are served without regard of age, race, income, nationality, religious affiliation or disabilities ~ and they are all treated with kindness, compassion and in a caring manner.
Women receive medically sourced information about pregnancy, fetal development, lifestyle issues and related concerns. They are directed to other appropriate resources that could support them and supply them with additional help and information. They do not offer, recommend or refer for abortions but they do give information about abortion procedures and risks.
Some of the services provided are: pregnancy testing, counseling, ultrasounds, sexual education, resource referral and a program that offers one-on-one life skills mentoring to help women identify and achieve goals and prepare for future responsibilities. All services are provided free of charge and that is why donations are so crucial to their ability to serve everyone who walks through their door.
Shepherd Tree: The Kids Alive Christmas party has been changed to December 12th. The Shepherd Tree will be placed in the hallway TODAY. There are two important items to remember: please be sure to sign your name on the sign up sheet when you take an ornament; also, give all receipts to Terry Taylor as Thrivent will be co-sponsoring this event. The list of gifts is only a suggestion. The purchase of one or two presents will be sufficient. Please have the presents back to the church by Sunday, December 6th.
