Mission of the Month: Swahiba Youth Networks

Swahiba Youth Networks is a Kenya based nonprofit mission organization that reaches out to youth with passion and compassion. The goal is that youth will become genuine, reliable, and responsible members of society while coming to know Christ in the process.

Lutherans from the Maryland area will join The Networks this summer to spend time in rural villages doing children’s programs and physical labor projects in schools and assisting with the construction of a Family Resource Center in the city of Nairobi.

Originally, Paige Jensen’s nephew, Kevin Smith, was scheduled to go along with the Maryland group in June and July to assist in the projects mentioned above. Kevin was to be our May Mission of the Month in order to raise the $3500 he needed for the trip. However, because of political unrest in the area, he will not be able to participate. But, the work is still going to be carried out and donations will be given to the Networks organization to continue their mission goals.
