              A Message from Pastor Jensen:

Welcome toCommunity Lutheran Church’s homepage.  Our name says it all.  Let me explain.

·         Community - We are a close-knit community.  (We are not cliquish, however.  There is always room for more!)  Sharing the same faith, Lord and baptism, we seek to encourage one another in our walk with Jesus and equip each other for service.  And this service extends well beyond the church walls.  We strive to be “Good Neighbors.”  Through our preschool, Helping Hands Garden , support of local charities, and other endeavors, we seek to make a difference in the lives of people within our community and beyond.

·         Lutheran - Contrary to what some people think, we do not worship Martin Luther, the 16th century monk.  But rather, we follow in his footsteps.  We are heirs of the Reformation faith.  Like Martin Luther, we believe that we are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).  Moreover, the Holy Scriptures (the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments) are the sole source of our teachings.  As did Martin Luther, we believe, teach and confess what the Bible says-nothing more, nothing less.

·         Church - The word ‘church’ comes from the Greek word meaning “to call out.”  As believers in Jesus, we have been called out of darkness-the darkness of sin and death-into God’s glorious light (1 Peter 2:9).  We have also been called to make diligent use of the means of Grace-the Word of God and the Sacraments (The Lord’s Supper and Holy Baptism)-for through these means God the Holy Spirit strengthens and renews our faith.  And we have been called to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others so that they too might receive forgiveness and enjoy new and everlasting life in Jesus.

Thanks for visiting our website.  If you live in our area

or are simply passing through, we hope that you will

stop by for a visit.  We would love to meet you.

            Because Jesus lives!
